Services for Schools
A visit to the Centre provides pupils with an interesting and entertaining experience, perfectly complementing study of the local area and the many changes it has undergone in the past. There are three experiences on offer at the Centre:

1. Two Hour Full Experience: £2.50 per child
A ten minute filmshow on the History of Smethwick is followed by an exciting boardgame activity and a guided activity session with the museum displays. There is also time for a question and answer session. Souvenirs are also available to purchase at a small extra cost.

2. Handling Sessions £2.50 per child:-

Local Businesses:-
A selection of artefacts made in Smethwick or items made with products from Smethwick. Accompanied by photographs and a talk about the businesses that made Smethwick the workshop of the world.

The War and Homefront:-
Highly popular themed talk with artefacts such as medals, helmets, gas-masks and even grenades (defused!). Accompanied by photographs and with a chance to ask our volunteers about their own experience of the war, including evacuation.

3. One hour guided tour of Smethwick high street £25.00 an hour, maximum of 15 people
A tour of landmarks along Smethwick high street, with anecdotes and memories from our volunteers.

Can’t Make it to the Heritage Centre?
It really is best to come out to see us but we understand this can be difficult. In light of this we are able to bring most of what we offer out to you. We can tailor a package to suit; a combination of all the elements mentioned overleaf. Prices are £75 per two hours and then £25 for each successive hour.

Visiting Hours
The Centre is always closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays. For this reason we normally suggest that you visit us then so that your pupils can have exclusive access to all of the facilities. Other days are available if you prefer.

Suitability
The main focus is aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils. All that we offer is suitable to pupils of all abilities. There are activity sheets and worksheets which can be used or not as is felt appropriate.
